My Etsy Shop

When I first started making my hoodies and blankets as gifts for family and friends I was quite bowled over by the response! Not only were the recipients absolutely thrilled but they started to get lots of enquiries from other family and friends (and even total strangers in the street!) about where they had got an item from. One such enquiry came from a pregnant American lady who saw one of the Littlies wearing a Rainbow Hoodie and wanted to get one. So, they phoned me to speak to her and I had my first commission!

I received lots of encouragement to sell my goods and do custom orders which I have to say I was very hesitant about. But lots of friends wanted to buy a hoodie to give as a gift and so I started that way. It felt quite different making things to sell rather than give as a gift. But selling an item now and then helps pay for more yarn........ which is always very tempting! So I decided I wouldn't actually make things to sell, I would make them as always for the love and enjoyment of doing it and any that I didn't give away as gifts I would offer for sale. So I set up my little shop called Kids In The Hood on Etsy, originally just offering my hoodies. Since then I have sent hoodies all over the UK, USA, Canada, Spain, Portugal and Norway.
