About me

Hi I'm Tricia. I live in beautiful Yorkshire with my lovely man. I have two sons to be proud of, all grown up and off doing their own thing. My eldest lives and works in Belgium at the moment on a beautiful country estate whilst the youngest has lived in Cambridge for many years now, having gone to university there. I miss them but at the same time love the fact that they are off leading their own lives.

Since taking early retirement a few years ago I have rediscovered my passion for handicrafts, crochet and knitting especially, although I also design and make my own cross stitch samplers. Whilst I love making things as gifts for family and friends, my real passion is making things for Little People! Thanks to my wonderful Mum, Margaret, I have been crocheting and knitting since I was four years old, reading patterns almost as often as books and, although I can knit more or less anything, knitting for children has always been my greatest pleasure. Whether knitting picture sweaters of their favourite characters for my lovely boys 30 years ago or creating modern hoodies now for a new generation of Littlies, my garments have always resulted in lots of requests to knit more - especially the hoodies! The response to them has been fantastic and totally unexpected!

More recently I have become totally addicted to crochet all over again, having not done it for many years. I particularly love hooking baby blankets, often to go with a hoodie I've knit and sometimes just because I love the yarn! I just LOVE colour. The more of it the better!

My fella and I are lucky enough to be able to travel - a lot! We go abroad every couple of months and have visited some really AMAZING places, including Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesia (Tahiti & Bora Bora etc), Brazil and many, many Caribbean islands. No matter where we go, near or far, there is always a hook and yarn in my travel bag!

I'm also an avid reader - never go anywhere without my Kindle! I enjoy gardening, baking, chilling with friends - all the usual things. And now blogging!

Well we'll just see how this blogging comes along................
